Currently, there are many very well-known and popular online stores in which a variety of goods are ordered daily by shoppers from almost every corner of the globe. However, while shopping online is commonplace for many, a large proportion of Internet users still do not dare to go online.

The creation of online stores today is almost “put on the stream”: every day, more and more stores appear on the network, welcoming their virtual doors in anticipation of the first customers. Such virtual doors are often the homepage of an online store. There are a few important points about design and filling that you need to keep in mind for an online store to work successfully.

Great deals, bonuses, free shipping. Every merchant knows that different sales, discounts and bonuses are an additional incentive for the customer. In online stores, the strategy of providing buyers with various discounts and bonuses is also a great success: it is a pleasure for the buyer to get something for their purchase as a gift or to save on delivery.

“Sale”, “Offer of the day”, “Special discount”, “Free shipping”, “Gift to buy” – all these and other techniques have long been known to marketers of ordinary “offline” stores. The same techniques work well with online purchases: many users simply lose their heads when they see a sale and buy a product only because it is sold at a great discount.

When creating an online store, it is wise to display the range of products and the most popular products in special blocks on the main page, to announce future receipts, future promotions and sales. This will immediately entice the visitors, provoke them to further study the products offered.

Payment systems icons. On the homepage (and others too), it’s important to give shoppers information about what payment systems your online store is working on. To do this conveniently with the help of payment system icons: they do not take up much space and are usually located at the bottom of the pages of the site (in the “basement”). With the recognition of such icons, every buyer can quickly determine whether he can pay for goods in the online store.

Social buttons and icons. Today, when social site promotion is particularly popular, online store pages should display social buttons and icons that will allow visitors to reach social media pages or groups, be able to subscribe to updates, and more.

A tool for finding local offices and stores. If an online store has a fairly wide network of representative offices offline, then there is no special tool for finding these representative offices on the site. It can be just a map with the markings, or it can be, for example, a master assistant in choosing the right dealership: the buyer, following the help of the assistant, can easily find where the nearest dealership is located.

“Quality mark”. It is very important to inform buyers on the online store pages that it is safe to buy any goods here. For this purpose it is good to use special “quality marks”, which will show the customers that the online store has received approval from leading companies in the field of Internet security.

Online shopping guide. A good way to get your visitor interested in making a purchase is to create a dedicated online guide: a step-by-step guide to tell you how to make a purchase at a given store, or to help the visitor understand what features of the products you are looking for in the first place. Such an online guide can be text description, photo or video tutorials, assistant wizards and more.
