How to order a base-type site creation
If a company does not have its own website these days, it causes some potential distrust in its potential customers: does the company not hide something, since it still has no representation in the Internet environment? As a result, even small companies that have just started their business are trying to order the creation of a site with at least minimal functionality. Let’s talk about how to properly order a site with a minimum set of features, or, in other words, a basic site.
The tasks of the websites of different companies are usually very individual, but there are always several tasks that are common to all sites – these are, first and foremost, image and advertising tasks. Just for such tasks, small companies are ideally suited to basic sites – sites that have sufficient functionality to represent the company on the Internet, but at the same time are much cheaper than complex corporate sites or Internet portals.
Basic type sites are typically developed on CMS content management systems. Thanks to CMS, the base site can be updated or modified at any time: the design of the site with a content management system is not “tied” to the content, which allows you to work separately with the site design and separately – with the content. Given the fact that many modern CMS are easily scalable, the base site can even be expanded over time to a web office or online store.
To properly order the development of a basic type of site, you need to prepare a little. In particular, it is necessary to determine in advance the goals and objectives of the site, to calculate at least an approximate budget for its development, and to build a strategy for further development. It is equally important to prepare all the necessary materials for filling the site: photos of products or works, description of products or services, information about the company, etc.
Whenever possible, before ordering the creation of a base site, it is also necessary to prepare information on wishes for the design of the future site, as such information will help to reach a quicker understanding between the customer and the contractor. At the same time it will be possible to discuss at once with the web designer the question of how well the design is appropriate to the goals that are facing the site: it may be more acceptable to have an option that did not initially receive due attention.
At the stage of preparation for the order of development of the base site it is very useful to draw up a technical task (TK) – a document in accordance with which the work will be carried out. Such a document will help to “lay out on the shelves” all requirements for the future site and will speed up the process of coordination of the list of works necessary for creation of the site. It is noteworthy that there are no universal requirements for the preparation of TK, so this document can be drawn up in an arbitrary form, the main thing is that it clearly describes the tasks assigned to the contractor.
